Chromebook Policy and Procedure
- Since we have primarily 9th - 11th grade students in Spanish 2, each will have his or her own Chromebooks. Other grade level students will be supplied with a computer from our floating laptop carts. Anytime a computer is being used in our classrooms, we will be actively and continually monitoring their use by walking around and observing the screens.
- Most computer assignments in our classes will be of short duration and completed within one class period. We will often use our computers for repetitive drilling to reinforce the day’s lesson. At the end of satisfactory completion of an assignment (as specified by the teacher), the student will email his or her results to the teacher. Feedback to the student can range from grades for achieving a level required to assigning additional tutorial time to meet the requested level.
- If a student is observed on a site not assigned in class, he or she will be taken off the computer for the day. An alternate assignment will be provided for class time and the computer assignment will have to be finished at home. A second offense will render the student unable to use the computer in class the remainder of the year.
- Enter classroom calmly and sit in your assigned seat. Come prepared every day with computer, notebook, paper, writing utensil, and assigned work.
- Each student should begin working on the warm up exercise and read the learning target, objectives, and criteria for success as soon as he/she enters the class.
- Follow directions the first time they are given. Stay on task and use every minute wisely.
- Stay in your seat until I dismiss class. Do not line up by the door before the bell.
- When assigned to work in groups students will stay on task and complete their portion of the assignment.
